I think when women are pregnant, they assume that they are going to be able to bond and love their baby instantly the minute it's born. And the truth is, that doesn't always happen; sometime it takes a little bit of time to really feel connected. When you have twins, often it's so overwhelming to have two babies who have two different needs and two different personalities that the bonding is often lopsided. And what I found for myself was that my daughter has personality traits that I have that I am not so comfortable with, like my need to be in control or my bossiness. And in the beginning, that made it harder for me to connect with her. Once I realized that and I really saw her full, total personality, I was able to totally bond with her. And now I am completely connected to both my kids, not just the same, but uniquely.
