Children should behave on a play date two different ways, depending on if they are hosting or if they are a guest in someone's home. When they are a guest in someone's home, the obvious, they should be respectful. They should be mindful not to go into the refrigerator themselves, but ask to be offered something. They should be also, sensitive to the host and go along with what the host would like to do. They should be sure to use their manners, and say "thank you," or ask for something using the word "please." On the flip side, when they are hosting a play date in their home, they should be the one to actually put their guests at ease. They should welcome them into the home, offer them food and beverage; and maybe ask them what they would like to do. Taking turns and sharing is the best way to show your guests that you care, and that you are happy that they came to your home to play.
