Baby Clothes/Kids Clothes-Toys-Gear-Do you save it all or give it away?

So if you are done with kids, are you a saver of it all? Save just a few things? Or are you celebrating the next phase of life with a clean sweep and purging it all?

I save some clothes, such as the custom hospital shirts, that have their birth info on it. Also, certain items they are still attached too. However, everything else I donate or I’ll give it to a friend who is expecting.

I save a few of the things that bring good memories with the hopes of turning them into a quilt when the kids are grown. Once they outgrow clothes and toys we donate them .We had good luck at the women's shelter for victims of domestic violence. It feels great to help someone in need.

I save a few things. I was saving a lot and found it was way too much clutter and started donating some of the things.

We're all definitely donaters.

I give it all away once I'm past that size for good. The only exception is of an outfit was given by someone who has passed away. If I really like it, I make sure to get pictures of it.

Wow, great for all of you. I tend to be much better than I was with my first three where I saved so much. The funny thing was when we had our last 2 the stuff had changed so much we had to buy all new. There really is not point to hold onto baby gear that will not be used in the very near future. I learned that the hard way. LOL.

Some of the bigger gear I've sold online. Clothing in good condition I usually consign. The football team is doing a textiles drive that accepts clothing in all conditions including rips and stains so it's a good way to get rid of that type of stuff. I just finished going through all of my kids closets and dressers yesterday — got four garbage bags worth! Shoes are next. Feels good to purge and get more organized!

Wow never heard of a textiles drive. What do they do with it? Sounds interesting.

I'm not 100% I'm done yet, so I've been holding onto everything... for now.

I have/had no plan. I'm very done with kiddos but lacking the time to really go through their old stuff. After #1 I did get rid of a lot of things because we moved to a much smaller house and didn't have room for it all (we moved from TX to CA). But with #2 I had to purchase all the stuff I threw out! And while pregnant with her we moved back to TX, so now we have a big house again. I ended up keeping a lot and then my sister had a girl so I was able to share some of it with her. Now I just have piles and bins in the guest bedroom. And baby toys in the guest closet. I'm a mess.
