One of the things that's hard for many that's gone through a miscarriage is what do you do with all the presents that you get after the shower? When you're going through a time where you're grieving, one of the things you can do is really reach out for support and enlist a close friend, perhaps, who can write out an email for you to let friends and family know that not only are they returning the gifts or donating to a charity in the baby's memory, but to really provide a way of communicating the loss to everybody all at once so that you don't have to do that, so that you can really take this time out to grieve. The other thing you can do is maybe take some of the presents that you received and keep a few as a memento, as a keepsake. Sometimes it feels good to hold something that's soft to our hearts that will remind us of the baby and to really validate that baby existed. And perhaps creating maybe even a special place in your house, a memory place, with some of these items, whether it's pictures from ultrasounds or items from the shower too, as a reminder to reflect upon as you're healing.
