Miscarriage doesn't matter if it occurred for you at six weeks or two months, the loss is equally profound for a number of reasons. That's because the miscarriage represents, not only the present loss itself, but it represents for you the loss of the past. All of the hopes and dreams that you carried in trying to conceive this baby, then it happened, and then you have a loss. It is also contained in that time, all of the hopes and dreams for the future that you had for this baby. Many of the Kodak moments, so to speak. The first birthday, the first haircut, the first day of school, graduation. We think about the future when we have that memory within us. What I really recommend is for you to be gentle and kind with yourself and keep an open heart. Just apply loving to all the parts of you inside that hurts.
