I think my golden nugget parenting advice would be the cliché to enjoy the journey, not jut think about the destination, because it goes by very fast.
My children are 6 and 9 years old and to me they were born... to me, I was in high school yesterday. Everything just goes so fast, so good or bad, enjoy it.
When you're at your child's sporting event, or recital or whatever it might be, a birthday party, step back for a second and soak it all in. And even when it's something bad, like your kid breaks their arm or gets sent to the principal's office, it's all part of the journey, it's all part of the fun of being a parent. So step back every once in a while and take in the whole picture, because it flies by.
