There are a number of red flags for bullying. As a parent, you need to figure out what they are. Remember that kids are part of a social context. That means that their friends mean the most to them. When they start doing things where they start to avoid their friends or avoid activities that they love to do or see them not wanting to do the things they normally love. Say to yourself, "Hey, something is up." You need to talk to your child about that. It's also really important to know that kids can show symptoms differently. Young kids might not have the words to let you know, but they may just feel sick. Physical symptoms like stomach aches, pain, tiredness. Things you might not even relate to bullying. But if they don't have the words, kids are much more susceptible at young ages, to show symptoms.
