Self-care is a very important topic for parents to understand when they have a child in the hospital. Self-care is any task you do in order to take care of yourself, reduce stress, and maintain a healthy, balanced lifestyle. For example, self-care activities include, making healthy eating decisions, getting enough rest at night, and exercising like you normally would. When you have a child in the hospital, you are the most important thing in their life; but if you aren't taking care of yourself, you can't take care of them. You need to make sure that you take enough time for yourself to fill yourself back up, so that you can help participate in your child's healthcare.
