There are several things that you can do to make sure you have a voice in your child´s education. If you have the time, become involved in your child´s school. Being visible on campus to teachers, administrators has huge impact. It may seem unfair, yet these parents often have more of a voice in their child´s education just because they are seen. They are known. The other way to have a voice in your child´s education is to come to a parent conference as a listener, not as a complainer. Listen to what the teacher has to tell you about your child. Ask questions. If you have complaints, turn them into suggestions or ask for a problem solving strategy.
