When approaching teenagers today, it's important for parents to observe our world at large. When are in an age of mass media, generated by marketing, advertising, and technology; which means that many children are raised with excessive electronics and lack of community. It's important that we have a lot of compassion for the fast-paced environment that many of our teenagers are growing up in, especially that they would observe through pop culture and the media environment. This means being very forgiving when our teenagers feel that they want to advance and develop quicker than we think is appropriate. It also means being very compassionate when our teenagers feel unfounded or shaky, as we are going through a moment of global crises. The best thing that a parent can do during this time, is to remind a child that their best security is within themselves. To foster their own character in the household as a foundation for their life, no matter what is going on in their external reality.
