Just because somebody is a guy does not necessarily make them a sexual predator. So just because you have a boyfriend or a husband or an uncle or any other male does not mean just by virtue of being male you are going to automatically abuse a child. But you have to look at people who want to spend time with your kid. And how many people want to spend time with kids on their free time? How many people want to have kids come over to their house when they don´t have kids themselves? Anybody who has an overinterest in spending time with your kid or your kid alone should raise a red flag. For me as a mom, I don´t want to spend time with anybody´s kid unless it is going to help me or help my kid. So there is no reason to spend time with kids unless you either have kids and you want to help your kids, it is your job or you are an abuser. If someone is volunteering to hang out with your kid, you have to ask yourself why. They should be getting paid to do it or they should have kids themselves. If not, you have to wonder why is it that they are choosing to spend time with your kid. I had a situation when I was looking for a driver to drive my stepkids to school and I would get responses to my ad saying I will do it for two dollars an hour. Anybody who is willing to give you a huge deal or a huge break, you have to ask yourself why. To me, there are only three reasons why you want to hang out with kids. Either it is your job or you are getting paid. Two, you have kids and it is going to help kids or you want to help your family. Or third, you are a sexual predator. So if you cannot figure out which category it is in, you better not have your kid hang out with them.
