Teaching your kids responsibility

I don't believe there is a one size fits all answer to teaching your kids to be responsible, but I think, sometimes you need to give them some responsibilities; to make them in charge of something. It might be a younger sibling. It might be a task around the house. They have to feel good about what they are contributing to. They also have to feel that what they are doing is important. After they complete that task, if you can encourage them, applaud what they do; they will be more likely to do that again and again.
