When you are decorating your nursery, you need to think about, what do I really need? The babies are small for such a short amount of time. You cannot even imagine how quickly the first six months in your baby's life will pass. Think about long term. One thing that is a big splurge, and some parents are hesitant to get, is a glider rocker. That's not something that you are going to use just for when the baby is little. You will use it when they are older. Even my five year old, at this point, when he is feeling sick and cranky, I sit with him in that glider rocker and I read books to him. It is one of the best things that I got for my nursery. Splurge on that. One of the things that you don't really need is a changing table. I, personally, changed my kids in the bathroom because there is water there. I also don't like the smell of diapers in my baby's bedroom. Just don't get a changing table. You can change your baby's diaper anywhere in the house. That way, once they are out of diapers, you don't have that big, ugly thing in the nursery, taking up space.
