Ovulation Calculator

Jun 13, 2014

When a couple decides they’re ready to have a child, the first thing they’ll want to find out is when the woman is ovulating. If you’re not sure what you’re looking for, though, it can be hard to determine when a woman is ovulating. So how do you detect ovulation symptoms? Here are some ovulation calculator tips to help you detect whether or not you are ovulating.

There are a few different ways to detect ovulation, some of which are more accurate than others. According to fertility specialist Dr. Hal Danzer, an ultrasound is the most foolproof way of detecting ovulation symptoms. He says that using a predictor kit—the common way couples detect ovulation—can be useful, but there is a chance of getting a false positive from it. By using an ultrasound, you can see when a follicle reaches twenty millimeters and is ready to ovulate. By using an ultrasound, you’ll know exactly when ovulation will occur, which means you’ll be guaranteed to know when it’s the perfect time of the month to try to conceive.

Another way to detect ovulation is by using a temperature chart. Fertility specialist Dr. Richard Marrs says that a woman can take her temperature after she gets out of bed each day and mark it down on a piece of paper.  When the woman is ovulating, her temperature will go from a low baseline up to a higher temperature, and it will stay there until after ovulation is complete. This is one of the oldest tricks for detecting ovulation, but it is still accurate.

A more modern invention that you could use to see if you’re ovulating is a stick that tests urine, similar to a pregnancy test. This test will show a smiley face on the day when a woman is ovulating and on the day after. It’s a very accurate at-home way to detect ovulation. Furthermore, ovulation can also be triggered with an injection of HCG.

It can be stressful if a woman does not know her peak days of ovulation. Today, there are many different ways to test for ovulation, from getting an ultrasound at a doctor’s office to doing an at-home urine test. If one method doesn’t work for you, you can always try another. Soon you’ll have a good idea of when you are ovulating and you will be able to start your new family.
