There are so many great tool out there now online to help our middle schoolers do well academically. Middle schoolers love to be able to study with their computers and with their iPads and with their iPods and when they're on the go. Three that I like are freerice.com. Freerice is a website that's a little bit like Trivial Pursuit. It enables middle school students to study a variety of different subjects and test themselves. Every time they get an answer right, rice is donated through Unisef to third-world countries. The second is a flash cards app. There are many flash cards apps online and what students do is they load their vocabulary words in whatever subject they're studying on the flash cards app, and then they can take them on the go. The third is called Quizlet. Quizlet is an online resource used by middle schoolers and high schoolers in which they are able to answer reading comprehension questions for virtually every novel they will study throughout middle school and high school.
