Transcription:
Having a child with depression affects everybody in the family. It affects each parent, and it affects the relationship between the parents. One parent may blame the other parent, particularly if depression ran in one person's family and not the other person's family; but it definitely affects the relationship. It affects the other kids in the family. Sometimes they may feel guilty or afraid of disrupting things or they may feel like this person already has a problem, our problems aren't so big. Maybe we shouldn't worry about them. The important thing is to create open communication. Talk to your other kids, honestly, about what is going on. And if you are having problems dealing with other kids in the family, get help. Talk to your therapist, your child's therapist, go see a family therapist; but depression definitely affects everyone in the family.
