One of the things about somatic experiencing is, although of course we have trained many professionals in this methodology, it's also something we really give to people to help empower their own lives. So there's a lot of things people can learn to do, especially things that parents can learn to do to prevent trauma developing in their children and to help children rebound from past traumas they've happened. One example, very common example. Children fall. Sometimes just taking the time to be with children after they've fallen can prevent trauma from developing at a later time. Also children sometimes undergo invasive medical procedures, surgeries, and this is another area that parents can really help their children to prevent the trauma from becoming part of their lives.
