During the course of my investigations it's not uncommon for suspects to send a child pornography. The suspect sends child pornography to minors as a way of grooming them for sexual exploitation. They do this to desensitize minors and to normalize sexual behavior for a child. If during the course of your online investigation, you solicit and receive child pornography, you are technically in possession of child pornography which is felony punishable by prison time and also a requirement to register as a sex offender. And assuming that a district attorney or prosecutor won't pursue a case against you. You may end up having your computer ceased because they do contain contraband evidence. And finally you want to avoid conducting your own online operations because you may end up compromising any further case. These cases are very tricky to conduct and they require careful evidence collection and certain techniques to used and so someone who's untrained to conduct these investigations may make it very difficult for law enforcement to resume the investigation.
