All marriages are impacted by the birth of a baby. Especially so, after the birth of twins. Mother's of twins need rescuing, and fathers of twins need time alone with their wives. An important thing to do, before the babies are born, is to sit down and try to work out an arrangement of who is going to do what. Remember that it is not going to be equitable, but at least it will give you some structure and organization about who is going to be doing what. Furthermore, it's very important at this time, for fathers be very empathic with the partner. Try not to give solutions to the partner, but try to listen and give the partner a lot of praise for all the sacrifice and devotion to the babies. Partners need to help their partner transition coming home from the workplace to the home. Don't expect a partner to come in and pick up a baby right away. He or she needs time to acclimate to what is going on. Try to spend some alone time with your partner, remembering why you fell in love. Try to connect on an affectionate level, rather than a sexual level. Finally, try to make sure that you allow both partners to have some space and time for physical exercises. It is a very important way for mother's who have just given birth to get integrated back into their bodies and for men to feel that they have a part of their normal routine.
