If you can see, in your mind's eye, your child grown up, that gives you a kind of hidden inspiration. This is the goal that you are working toward.
Now, keep in mind, the child you visualize grown up, will probably not what the child grows up and turns out to be. But it's a way of reminding yourself that this marvelous project that you are engaged in called, being a parent, does have a destination. You are working towards something magnificent. You really don't quite know what it is going to be, so your visualization is probably going to be quite inaccurate.
This is a way of reminding you that the process is leading towards something quite wonderful.
