It is very important for parents to look for the talents, interests, gifts their children have and then help their kids develop those. After all, you build a life on interests that you develop, not on test scores that you put in high school. Some of the most successful, happy, productive people in the world were relatively poor students. High school dropouts, college dropouts. Now, I do not recommend you do that but you look at those folks and what you always find, they had a parent or a teacher or a coach, somebody who got behind them and helped them develop certain talents and interests that turned into eventually a career.
