Homeschooling and alternative schooling really have quite a movement in this country in the last 10, 15 years. There are over a million students in this country that are homeschooled or do some type of online or correspondence school. And all of our top colleges from Stanford to Harvard to Princeton are filled, I wouldn´t say filled but there is a certain presence of homeschooled students on these campuses. And very often these students have taken college courses when they are still in high school or junior college courses and they are fairly advanced. The most important thing to remember when you do a homeschooling curriculum is to have some type of context because contextual comparison is very important to college admission folks. And when I say context, that means having a body of standardized tests that you can show the admissions committe that are comparative to regular students. In other words, the SAT, the SAT subject tests, and the ACT exams. These are national exams that all students take whether they are homeschooled or in regular schools. And it shows your breadth of knowlege in that particular course. So if you are a homeschooled student and you can take these standardized tests and do well, then it obviates the lack of a standard curriculum that you would receive from going to a traditional school. So as long as you can do well on those courses, you are in good shape. The colleges really do not discriminate against homeschooled students because there are so many of them now.
