The father’s role is obviously incredibly important. Increasingly roles are getting blurred with more stay at home dads and whether you’re married or divorced, the ideal thing is to be able to co-parent. I’m divorced, but my ex-husband and I were able to co-parent, to have holidays together, to spend the children’s birthdays together. And at the Huffington Post we have a dedicated divorce section that deals a lot with the issue of co-parenting. Because with 50% of the marriages ending in divorce, it’s really key not to let our own personal animosities and resentments get in the way of putting our children first.
