Picking up the baby every time the baby cries is just a given. Why not? What is wrong with it? Some people say, Will I spoil it? Will it create bad habits? Absolutely not. How can love create bad habits? On the other hand, we have to understand that the most important thing is not to listen to any experts, me included. It is just to do what works well for you. Does it mean that every time your baby cries, you should pick them up? No. Does it mean that you should let your baby cry because, otherwise, you will spoil him? No. You have to do what makes you happy. If you are freaking out when you pick up the baby, it is actually worse than letting the baby just cry. The most important thing is, what do you want to do? What makes you happy? If you are crying while your baby is crying because somebody told you not to pick him up, that is also crazy. The middle way is the best way. There are no absolutes. Of course, the best way is to just be with your baby when he cries, not just shut him up in some fashion so he doesn't express himself.
