I think for teenagers the right to privacy, it’s a little bit subjective. But they’re living in your house, they’re under 18 years old – they’re a minor, so you’re in charge of them, so their privacy is subjective in the fact of how much you’re going to let them have. My kids have Facebook pages, cell phones. They have a lock for a little lockbox they have and I have access to all that information. I have my son put it in a little envelope and I have it on the back of the bulletin board behind my calendar and if I need it, I can get it. But I don’t go in there and I don’t look at his Facebook page and check his cell phone texts. A lot of that has to do with trust – they do need some privacy. I don’t want to know everything they’re doing and they clearly don’t want to know everything I’m doing, but it’s to keep them safe, they’re a part of your house and they’re a minor and you’re responsible for them, so privacy – it has its limits.
