To get teenagers to work around the house, and help around the house, they have to be home. So, my husband loves to do yard work, loves to gather and trim the bushes and do all that kind of stuff and he makes it like a little family project and gets everyone involved. And its great satisfaction when all the bushes have been trimmed and all the leaves and everything are on the ground, when they all cleaned up and put in the trash cans. It's great satisfaction to have everything done and cleaned. They don't always want to do it, but it's just something that we do as a family. The kitchen stuff on the other hand, my kids aren't so helpful in kitchen because, they are boys and boys don't do dishes. My husband was raised that way. He was raised the girls do the inside work, the boys do the outside work. But, you ask them to do it and if they don't respond to you, there is a consequence. My kids, because they are boys, they dump the trash, help with the yard work and I get one or two of them to do the dishes with me, probably 2 or 3 times a week but it's really, it is hard to do but you got to keep them home and it's part of their living in the house and their responsibility.
