Co-parenting with an ex I know could be tricky. In our family for whatever reason, it works amazing. My ex-husband, my husband and two kids, we even vacation together. When my ex comes in to town to see the kids, he stays at our house. My ex is actually even a business partner in our business. We started in the beginning. It wasn’t so easy because divorces never really are, but in the beginning, we just always put the kids first and put our feelings aside and put them first, and never wanted them to be in any sort of negative situation between the two of us. I think sometimes when you do something, it’s like fake until you make it, like you do something wrong enough, it becomes natural. It really took a couple of years, but he and I, my ex and I, became very good friends, but even before we hit that point, we always stayed in communication about what’s going on at home with the kids. Constant communication that if there is a little issue, we call each other and tell each other. Just so that, they could never play as against each other, but we always on the same page. I have to say that my husband has been absolutely amazing because I don’t know how many husbands would have the ex-husbands stay in the same house, but even they are great friends. I think it’s one of those things you just put your kids first and put the needs of them first and you make it work and eventually it does.
