If you’re having a hard time accepting the fact that your child was gay, the best thing you could do is to start trying to accept it because you’re not going to change it. If you’re gay, you’re gay. My child I knew when he was a toddler. It’s not because he was around gay people you can catch it. If you’re gay, you’re gay. If you want to have a relationship with your child and you need to love them and support them no matter who they are or what issue they have. You need to be there for them and love them. The fact that they are gay, they probably are going to come up against more obstacles in life. If you’re not there to help them, they’re probably not going to be very successful in life. You need to have their back. I mean any child, you need to do what you do for any child, but I think with the gay child even have to do more because you do have to protect them because society doesn’t always accept them. They do get harassed. There are a lot of issues. I would say if you’re having a hard time accepting the fact that they’re gay, you have to start with you and look into your heart. Then you’ve got to stand up for your child.
