Sometimes you may find that with siblings you have that sibling rivalry and I think in a healthy environment or a healthy setting it's good because they push each other and that's not a bad thing. In my home we always have friendly competitions. We're very competitive in my home. I bought a game system and we would play games and I taught my kids that it's okay to be competitive, but in the end love is the most important, family is the most important. And I would make my kids, and I do say, "make", I would make my kids go to each sibling's competition to support them. We didn't all just go to Gabrielle's, we went to Johnathan's football games and basketball games, we went to Arielle's cheerleading meets, we went to Joyelle's ice skating competitions. My son did not like this at all until he became a teenager. He got to be around all the cheerleaders and all the gymnasts and it became a different type of party, but it was fun because we got to enjoy it as a family, and that's how we kept our family unity together. We celebrated everyone's successes. We celebrated even when there was no success to celebrate, but it was just very important that we did it as a family, and no one was exempt from going to someone else's competition. It was a family journey and that's how it began and that's how we wanted it to end. I think it's important if you're a parent and you have more than one child that you get one of your children involved in their sibling's sports.
