Some of the challenges of being a stay-at-home dad is that you're there without the peer group that women often have, other mothers. As a dad, your friends who are fathers are off at work and they're not really too welcoming about you calling them up at work and asking them questions about how to take care of your kid. So you're a bit alone, more so I think than other moms are. Also another challenge is definitely that people look down on dads in a way where moms know best and dads don't really know what they're doing, the thought that you're babysitting the kid, and you want to tell them, "No, I'm actually the dad. I take care of the child full-time." So you get a little bit less respect than I think you deserve. So you have to learn how to deal with that challenge. And also in general, I think women don't kind of take you seriously and the male friends think that you are not doing as important a job as you may have been doing before, and of course you are doing a more important job. But you have to deal with all of their opinions and kind of just let it roll off your shoulder and know that you're doing the right thing and not worry about what people think so much.
