I think that certainly why your children are small and while they are under your control, it's really important to instill them with good values about eating. I've always involve Jackson in like going to farmers market ever since he was a newborn. We'd go to the farmers market and I'd show him fresh fruits and vegetables. As he got older, I let him pick the things he wanted and we'd make dinner together. I always give him healthy options. I actually never gave him candy once. I think that's a huge error that parents do. They put treats in front of their children that are really not good for them. Kids are going to eat them. I mean, who wouldn't want to eat goldfish? Who wouldn't want to eat cookies all the time? Who doesn't? I also don't think it's fair to restrict them completely from things like that. It's going to make them go nuts. I mean they're kids. But I always say to Jackson, "That's a choice that we make in our family. We choose not to eat that. It's the choice that our family makes." He gets it. He knows the lingo. And now when he's out in the world, he's four years old now, he's in school, he'll say, "No, thanks for that goldfish. We don't make that choice in our family."
