The one piece of advice I would give my younger self as a mother would be to stop feeling so guilty. When they take the baby out, I’m now convinced they put the guilt in. And mothers seem to feel guilty all the time. And when I was working I would feel guilty. When I was with my children I would feel guilty about work. And learning to be in the moment. Learning that I’m not going to do it perfectly. And eliminating that guilt and those self-judgments that I call the obnoxious roommate living in my head would have made my life as a mother much easier. And I think would have made me a better mom.
