When my kids think that they should have everything that everybody else has, I personally, have a standard line that I use that my mother taught me, and that is: Life is not fair. There are always going to have people that have more than you. There are always going to have people who have less than you. You will always have what you need. You may not always get what you want, but that is life. Life is full of minor disappointments. I always tell my kids that if there is something that they need, they will get it. They can't always get something they want just because their best friend has it.
