If you want to keep your kids safe from molestors or predators, it's really important to understand the truths, minimize the opportunity and listen and communicate and empower your kids from the time they are very young. For example, 90 percent of childhood sexual abuse happens to kids by somebody that they know, somebody they have a relationship with. We're looking for red flags and clues and cues in people's behaviour. If you want to keep your kids safe from a molestor, pay attention to their behaviour. Do they work really hard at being charming and ingratiating themselves into your family? Are they working really hard to gain one on one time to your child that excludes you? Sometimes, the nicer they are, the trickier they are.
