A lot of people think that formula feeding is as simple as scoop and shake. And for the most part, it is. But there are some rules that are really important to follow, especially when your baby is a newborn or very young. This is because things that are small problems can get compounded very quickly for newborns and something over the course of time if you start lapsing a little bit is not a big deal does become a big deal when your baby is that young. So the main things we want to worry about with formula is formula handling. You always want to make sure that you reduce the risk of bacteria being introduced to your formula bottle. And the other thing is ratios because a lot of parents are not aware that if the ratio of water to powder is not correct, your baby can end up severely dehydrated and even hospitalized. So these are the reasons. It is not to make things more complicated for us. It is to really to try to keep our babies safe.
