Date Night

For those of you that are married, how often do you and your spouse go out on dates?

Not often enough! LOL! It's just so expensive. We did actually go to a movie Saturday night, but it helped that the movie was comped by a PR agency (for my blog). Between schedule and cost (of babysitters, etc.), it's hard to get out together as often as we'd like. We really need to make it a priority but right now my hubs is training for Ironman which means most mornings he is up at 4AM. Not conducive to date nights!

We fail at date night. Sometimes we manage time together in the evening, but I wouldn't call it a date night.

Glad to know I'm not alone.  Our oldest is 17 and in that time we probably have been on may 30 dates.  Babysitters certainly pay a part.  They cost way too much.  For a number of years we had family nearby and could use them, but after moving we went years without a date.  We did try a kid swap with another family, but somehow that didn't last long. Now that we have teens and the youngest is able to take care of herself a bit, I'm hoping we can get some more alone time.  We did do a movie a couple weeks ago.

It's so crazy how difficult it is to get a date night. A friend of mine said what they do sometimes is not eat dinner with the kids and then after the kids are in bed, they make a special dinner just for the two of them. That sounds nice, but my husband is basically falling asleep by 8:30 since he gets up so early so I'm not sure that would work for us.
