Educational games on mobile/tablet

Posted May 27, 2017 - 11:36am

Hi, Wanted to ask, if it is fine to allow kids to play with tablet from age of 3? In my case I allowed my kids to play with tablet, but forced him to use educational apps. I am professional in finance sector, but over past 1,5 year been learning android programming, and recently finalized my own game, which my kid really enjoys. Game is about matching colors into pairs. My kids has trained up color recognition skill a lot, and now is able to math colors even on Medium difficulty. Still of course, we do not allow more than 15-30 min a day. In case you are interested in this game, you can have a look on Google Play: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.forshapp.colorseek

I would like to share an addictive K5 math practice app name  Mathaly. It is an online math practice game for students of grade 1 to grade 5. It is designed in such a way that you can get great practice in 14 major areas like addition, subtraction, multiplication, length etc. You will find all the resources to help you boost fun and math practice even more. The game play is simple fun and kids thrive to get better. You can get it here- https://logicroots.com/math-games/mathaly/.

Your game is awesome! My baby girl has played and she did love it (she is three). But I think parents should control how much kids play on tablets or phones. I think it shouldn't be more then hour a day (also divided in parts: morning and afternoon). We also have favorite game for tablet called Zebrainy, my older baby boy really love to play it, and I take a part in it, because this game is about learning ABCs, and I understood that it is much more engaging to play together. So we usually spend 15-20 minutes on one letter, and we don't take more than 2 letters a day. But I think it's not bad for children to play on tablets/phones, because even now it's hard to imagine our life without those devices, and eventually they will start using it, so it's better just to control the time of using. If you're interested here is main site of Zebrainy ABCz - http://zebrainy.com/, also you can download it on Appstore and Google Play.

What apps are your kids using to learn? I am all about trying to get them to have quality screentime! Instead of watching Peppa Pig on their Ipad, they can play an educational learning game instead! I have been using this app called Eduka's World! My kids love it so much!!! and best of all, IT'S FREE! Here is the app link incase you want to try it: https://bit.ly/3l5hB8v
