What are your top 5 Baby Gear Must Haves?

Posted August 25, 2015 - 10:09am

MIne would be:

A stroller-preferably a travel system or is compatible with your infant seat.

A Car Seat of Course- I prefer the infant seat and not going with the convertible from day 1. I like the convenience of that infant car seat and how easy it makes shopping and traveling with baby.

A Moby Type Wrap Carrier-Life Saver with Colic or fussy babies.

A Swing-My kids all loved their swing.

A Jumparoo or stationary baby bouncer. My kids loved the Baby Einstein One.

  • Grocery Cart (high chair) cover- Not sure what the official name was.
  • Bouncy seat.  My kids stayed in them until 2
  • Umbrella Stroller for when they are older.  Much easier to get in and out then the big bulky ones.
  • Car seat - I do like the infant seats at first too.  That way you don't have to wake your little one up every time.
  • High Chair

All the kids used those items, but i did have a couple that the swing and baby slings were a life saver for.

Mine would be:1. A swing (this worked wonders with all of my boys)2. A baby carrier (they are great when out and about. Travel systems were just too bulky for me, I used one with my first and never again)3. Infant car seat4. Heartbeat bear – (my youngest had to have his everywhere he went)5. Boppy (my youngest is still attached to his and he is about to be 3)

For very little ones, I would add a good swaddling blanket. And the Happiest Baby on the Block. Both were lifesavers for me.

What is Happiest Baby on the Block?

Sorry I'm late answering! It's a book my Dr. Harvey Karp. I believe there is a video, too. Dr. Karp outlines the "5 S's" to calm babies. So helpful! Worked every time.

Thanks.  Wish I had known about it when #3 came.  She was definitely not a happy baby.  Sounds like it would make a great shower gift.

Mommy Ramblings

Yes, all great and I used all of them, 5 really was not nearly enough!

Your Kid's Table

I LOVED my moby wrap and used it alot the first few months! All my kids loved the bouncy seat and used until 5 months or so. None of them strangely were big swing kids.

I'm like you and would have been totally lost without the bouncy seat.  Mine got so used that between the 5 kids we went through 4.
