Help for sensory integration disorders

For an elementary school age child it is important to seek professional help regarding sensory processing or sensory integration if the child is not able to function successfully in their environment. And that may mean if there are motor skill difficulties and the child is avoiding sports and playing on the recess yard; social challenges – the child may be highly sensitive to certain smells, touch, sound, movement. And also, in the elementary school years it’s critical to make sure that the child is able and equipped with everything that they need to learn as sensory processing disorders can affect learning.
