Blackheads seem to be of particular concern to some parents and early 'tweenagers.' Lots of kids like to pick and push at them, however, when you pick and push at a pimple or a blackhead, you may actually push the keratin in deeper which can cause more inflammation and more scarring. Starting with over-the-counter products like Benzoyl Peroxide and Salicylic Acid can really help sometimes. If your blackheads are going past that point, you really need to see your doctor in order to get a prescription medication like Retin-A or Differin to really more effectively remove those blackheads. Some doctors will also combine these with facials. Facials will actually remove the blackheads that are there, but it will not prevent the blackhead from coming, so you really need to do both.
