The number one thing that parents do to put their child at risk, is not loving them as they are; particularly when it comes to their body. A child should feel like they are perfect, just the way they are. Any time a parent says, "That shirt makes you look like you have a belly," even to a five year old. Yikes. You have set the stage. Do not try to change a child's weight. Love them like they are. Your child is voluptuous. You are taking her shopping, and you're not making any comments that she can't wear the shirts that are cut up to here, because her belly is going to show. You don't say a word. As long as the school is okay with it, you're okay with it.
