Yeah, so listen, if you’re a teen and you want to learn how to better effectively communicate with your parents and you’re watching this video right now, either one of two things has happened.
A) You got tricked. Hey what happened? It’s a funny cat video. You clicked and now you’re watching this.
B) You’re a responsible, mature young person who wants to better the relationship with your mom and dad.
And let me be honest with you. It is in your best interest to learn how to better communicate with your mom and dad. Because if you do such, they will trust you more and you will get more of the stuff you want – more opportunities, more privileges, more free time, this sort of thing.
So that sounds good. You’re thinking, how exactly do I do this? Simply this. You must get into the habit of intentionally communicating with them. I would challenge you to say look, 30 minutes a day I’m going to have a conversation with my parents.
You see quality time happens during quantity time. So during that 30 minutes you could talk to them about some of the great stuff going on during your life. You could talk to them about some of the terrible stuff going on your life. You could ask them about some of the great stuff going on in their life. And you could ask them about some of the terrible stuff going on in their life.
If you want to better communicate with your parents, you have to get into the habit of doing such. Quality time happens because of quantity time.
