Dealing with my son’s boyfriends really is not difference you would deal with a straight son’s girlfriends. It’s basically the same thing. I mean in our house, his girl friends who are just his friends, they are the ones who spend the night. They can be home when we’re not home. I mean they can be there when the parents aren’t home, but with his boyfriend and there is boyfriend. The same rules apply. Try not to have them over the house when we’re not home. You basically do the same thing you would for a straight child, for a straight boy with his girlfriend. We try not to get too attached his boyfriends because at this age, those relationship last a really long time, but we’ve really enjoyed having his boyfriends over. I mean our house is kind of always the house where the kids are. Yup, always have the kids sleeping over and dinners. Our house grocery bills are very high, but we do try and encourage both our kids to have their friends over our house including their boyfriends or girlfriends.
