If a child gets in over their head online, meaning that they have engaged in risky behavior, you need to be the parent. You need to be able to be the adult that they can go to at any point when they get in trouble. And that is they have met somebody online or they are planning to meet somebody online, you need to be the adult in their life that they can call and say I know you have told me a million times never to talk to anybody online about meeting with them. I know you have told me a million times never send a sexually explicit image of myself to somebody that I know or that I do not know but I have done so. And now what can I do? You need to be the adult that can say you have done the right thing to tell me and now together we are going to try to fix the problem.
