An ideal sleep schedule for a toddler is to wake up around 7:00 or 7:30 a.m. Take a nap around 1:00 to 2:30, an hour and a half is acceptable, two hours is ideal. Then back into bed at around 7:00 or 7:30 for bedtime. You want to get that early bedtime. I know that 7:00 seems to be early for bed for a toddler, but you want to get an early bedtime. The most beneficial sleep is before midnight. There is more beneficial sleep with your REM sleep before midnight, so we want to get as much sleep in before midnight. Even 6:30 is a good time if your child is tired and will go to sleep at 6:30.
