Transcription:
I am Diane Tanaka. I am an Adolescent Medicine Speacialist at Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles. I chose this particular specialty because I knew I wanted to work with children, which is why I went in with Pediatrics. And then I wanted to specialize with teenagers alone because I really, through my own personal growing up experiences, knew personally teens who were run-aways or in the foster care system; or were coming out of very chaotic family environments. So that kind of drove me to want to work with teens, who were facing similar situations as an adult and now I have the capability to do so in my profession. When I’m not working my husband and I love to travel and that’s probably our favorite thing to do. So we have travelled many different countries; exploring the world, meeting new cultures and experiencing life that way.
