It is interesting. There was a recent study on global happiness that shows that smaller families are happier families, that parents in smaller families are happier families, and it makes sense, right? I mean if you are not running yourself ragged all the time running to another soccer practice, baking for another bake sale, having to do another ballet pickup and frankly having to consider what it costs to have more children, you can imagine that it frees you up to be yourself in a different way. It frees you up to be devoted to your romantic partner in a different way. The babysitting costs are less. Another trip down the tunnel of infancy that we all go through for each child is something that you miss. That said, I honestly find that having a baby is the most romantic thing I have ever done with my partner so I understand the drive to have that experience again. But within my life, it has certainly freed us up to travel and to focus on each other which I think ends up being better for our daughter.
