Part of giving birth vaginally is, of course, stretching of the tissue – that’s how babies are born. So it goes from being fairly narrow to up to 10 centimeters or 4 inches across, so it’s a lot of stretching. And a lot of people…most people, it goes back to normal within a couple of weeks, a couple of months. But some people, it doesn’t, especially, if you’re petite, especially if you have a large baby – let’s say 9 to 10 pounds, especially if you have a difficult delivery with the vacuum delivery or forceps delivery. And some of those patients have tears into the rectum, into the bladder. And they might need surgery afterwards. Most often do not, but there is – I have to say – more and more concern these days, patients asking for something called vaginal reconstructive surgery to fix birth defects, or defects in a woman’s vagina from giving birth.
