When one is looking for an obstetrician, my suggestion is that people go and interview that obstetrician. I think it's important to talk about certain aspects of things like: What hospital do they deliver at? Do they have a call schedule? Do they share call with other people? What percentage of deliveries might they do on their own? In addition, I think it's important to talk about certain philosophical things in terms of natural childbirth. Towards other situations like, if someone is having twins, would they be amenable to delivering those twins vaginally. I think it makes sense to see if one can connect to that person and interrelate to that person as it relates to pregnancy. I don't think there is a specific question that seals the deal, for instance, but I do think it makes sense to make sure they can communicate, interact, and get along with that person.
