What happens when your child cooperates well with you but is disobedient with your nanny? What would you do? It might be that your child doesn't feel connected to the nanny/ It might be that the nanny doesn't know how to set limits. And finally it might be that your child doesn't actually think it matters to obey the nanny because the nanny is not you. And so you need to step in and let you child know that you're the nanny's back up and yes, you do expect the child to do what the nanny asks. So you want to facilitate a relationship, build some closeness between the nanny and the child. You want to talk to your nanny about saying limits which means for her to be like a wall, she's not movable. You know, child pushes, she doesn't move. But there's also no reason to be punitive or mean about setting those limits. The child is much more likely to cooperate with her and then finally to let the child know that you expect your child to do what the nanny asks. If he thinks it's unfair, you're available to talk to about it later.
